How do i fix Xbox 360 ring of death with 1 light, its the E 74 Error?

i was playing my xbox, and the screen got all blurry and wierd and the colours got all messed up. then the xbox froze, i turned it back on and there was the ring of death with 1 red light. on the screen, there was a thing that said ” Error E 74″ . people say that its’ easy to fix, how do i fix it without sending in my xbox, taking it apart, or spending lots of money? thanks

Since the E74 is the audio-visual card failing, there is no way to repair it without opening the system. As the other two say, the best bet would be to sent it back to Microsoft. Call them up at 1-800-4MY-XBOX or go to the service section of their site at Xbox.com. The good news is that you get a free 1 month card back when your system returns.

Don’t send anything but the system, no hard drive, no disk, no etc.

Can I use the Xbox 360 headset while playing games?

I recently got an Xbox 360 Elite and call of duty 4: modern warfare. I can play online on call of duty, and i do have gold membership, but is it possible to use the headset during online play e.g. talk to people while playing?
Can i play it in the game? and if so, for cod4 players, how do i set the game options to be able to use the headset?

Basicly for any game, even for call of duty 4, all you have to simply do it plug in the micro phone into your controller. Move the button on it, to the microphone symbol. This show it is on.

When you’re online and gaming with people on all of duty, you will notice a symbol that looks like a speaker next to people names. The people who have that symbol mean they have a mic plugged in. The people who symbol is flashing means that they are speaking.

Look at your name, if the speaker is next to it, then your headset has been recoginised. Speak, if it flashes, people can hear you. So i suggest you turn up your volume, or check to see if anyone else is speaking to you.

Also, if the speaker is not next to your name, try restarting the console or keep replugging your headset several times for it to recognise.

Xbox 360 repair?

My 360′s DVD drive has recently failed, so I went onto service.xbox.com to request a repair. Now the repair status says :Waiting for Device at Service Center.

my xbox also had a dvd drive issue yes they do send you a box no strings attached

you’ll get it back about 2-3 weeks after you send it to them
